This lovely, clipper-bowed ketch is beautifully modeled with lovely sweeping curves everywhere. She is easily driven, which makes for a fast sailing boat that is easy on herself and easy on her crew...all prime requisites for a cruising vessel.
Mistral is another clipper-bowed vessel of what has become known as the "Ticonderoga model." She is a little fuller bodied than her ketch sisters, but none-the-less a very fast, comfortable boat at sea. Her 6' 3" draft allows her access to many waters otherwise lost to a boat of her size. A complete cruiser.
Perhaps the most truly beautiful of all of Herreshoff's ketches, Araminta approaches the ultimate for day sailing and short-range cruising. She is fast and, with her 50% ballast to displacement, provides a very stable platform for her size. With simple accommodations, she is ideal for that quick retreat from daily tensions.
Escort was both a part of the tradition of the commuter/cruisers of the early 1940's, but also a unique creation of her own. Originally designed to transport people on yachty errands in her spacious open cockpit, she offers a small cabin below, with a spacious v-berth, mini galley and head.
